After reading law in France and the United Kindom, Hakima started her professional career as a clerk in a law firm and in the commercial chamber of a court of appeal. Her practice focused on European law and commercial contracts.
In 1998, she joined professional organizations as an in-house regulatory attorney. Her practice focused on providing expert EU regulatory opinions to financial institutions in the EU.
In 2013, she joined the Brussels bar and developed her private practice as an independent qualified lawyer. Since then, she has also assisted, as contract attorney/team lead, law firms in their litigation, antitrust, and securities enforcement affairs in high profile banking and competition cases.
