Brandon Hammer Named an ‘Outstanding Young Restructuring Lawyer’ by Turnarounds & Workouts

Cleary Gottlieb partner Brandon Hammer has been named an “Outstanding Young Restructuring Lawyer” for 2024 by Turnarounds & Workouts.

Brandon is among only 12 lawyers nationwide under the age of 40 recognized for their work in some of the most significant bankruptcies and restructurings from the past year.

Brandon’s recent work has included representing:

• Genesis Global Holdco, LLC in a contested settlement agreement with FTX and Alameda and winning a variety of disputes against Gemini
• BitGo Trust in negotiation of a custody arrangement with FTX at the onset of “crypto winter” 
• Coinbase in its role as distribution agent in Celsius’ bankruptcy and in structuring and developing novel transactional structures to mitigate and limit risk in transactions with distressed counterparties
• Miami International Holdings Inc. in its acquisition of LedgerX from Ledger Holdings Inc. in connection with FTX’s Chapter 11
• Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank during the 2023 banking crisis
• Credit Suisse and counterparties in a wide variety of complex matters related to its 2023 distress and merger with UBS
