Cleary Gottlieb and the Impact Investing Legal Working Group (IILWG) are proud to co-host a conversation titled, “Concrete Rose: Generating DEI Impact Through Capital” to highlight the work of Cleary’s pro bono client, Concrete Rose Capital.

Concrete Rose has recently launched a fund that is investing in companies of underrepresented founders and early stage companies that are addressing significant issues facing underrepresented consumers of color.

Sean Mendy, Concrete Rose Capital’s founder, discussed his journey to launching the fund, the barriers to social capital that persist in the venture capital space, and how the fund proposes to impact communities of color.

Cleary funds attorney Jamal Fulton discussed the experience of working with the founders of a first fund and the role that lawyers and the law play, from formation to marketing.

MaryRose Brusewitz, attorney at Clark Hill and a founding member of the IILWG, moderated the conversation.
