Green Card Application Assistance Project with Citi

Cleary Gottlieb launched a pro bono project in partnership with Citi and Sanctuary for Families to provide representation to U-Visa holders in their applications for green cards.
Pro bono immigration attorney Kyle Dandelet and Carmen Maria Rey, Deputy Director of the Immigration Intervention Project at Sanctuary for Families, conducted the CLE; partner Jeff Karpf gave opening remarks.
The U-Visa is a form of immigration relief available to immigrants who help law enforcement in the investigation or prosecution of crimes of which they were victims.Under the project, Cleary attorneys will work alongside Citi attorneys to represent U-Visa holders who have survived domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking and other similar crimes in preparing green card applications so that they can become lawful permanent residents of the United States and eventually apply for citizenship.
