Cleary Gottlieb hosted a breakfast seminar, “Ready or Not Here It Comes: CCPA,” part of its Privacy Roundtable Breakfast Series.
Following the recently adopted CCPA amendments, the California AG’s Office has released a draft of its long-awaited regulations, which offer some helpful clarity but also impose some unexpected new requirements and leave some of the law’s most challenging aspects unaddressed. Following up on our July session, panelists highlighted the key CCPA-related changes of which in-house counsel should be aware as a result of the proposed regulations (which may be further modified to reflect public comments) and the recent amendments, and discussed how businesses should approach CCPA compliance in light of these changes, in advance of the law’s January 1, 2020, effective date.
