On December 7, 2015, Cleary Gottlieb partner Michael Krimminger led a webcast on “Virtual Currencies, Bitcoin and the Blockchain: The Intersection of Technology and Law,” presented by Practising Law Institute.

This session was designed to explore the blockchain, Bitcoin, and their potential current and future uses by individuals and the marketplace – and how the law currently looks at these developments and what future legal approaches may be considered to facilitate innovative applications of these new software and technological developments. Mr. Krimiminger discussed these developments and the legal, policy and business issues they pose for lawyers, regulators and the public.
