Amundi Acquires Pioneer Investment from UniCredit for €3.55 Billion

Cleary Gottlieb is representing Amundi, the leading European asset manager, in a binding agreement with UniCredit to acquire Pioneer Investments for an all-cash consideration of €3.55 billion.

As part of the transaction, announced on December 12, 2016, Amundi will form a long-term strategic partnership with UniCredit for the distribution of asset management products. 

This transformative acquisition will create the eighth-largest asset manager globally with €1.28 trillion of assets under management, significantly strengthen Amundi’s industrial project and reinforce its position as the European leader in asset management.

With €222 billion of assets under management, Pioneer Investments is a world-class asset manager that has a highly complementary business and geographic profile with Amundi.
