Cleary Gottlieb was recently named one of the “Best Law Firms for Women” by Working Mother magazine. In its second annual joint initiative with Flex-Time Lawyers LLC, Working Mother recognized 50 U.S. firms that have established the best work/life benefits to help female lawyers succeed.
Cleary Gottlieb’s policies governing leave of absences, including allowing new mothers to take as much time off as they wish, flex-time and telecommuting, and the firm not requiring minimum billable hours for lawyers with reduced schedules were highlighted. Certain of the firm’s female leadership roles and achievements, mentoring program, and Committee on Women’s Issues were also recognized.
The top 50 firms for 2008 were selected based on a variety of factors, including: workforce profile; family-friendly benefits and policies; flexibility; leadership, compensation and advancement of women; and development and retention of women.
