HypoVereinsbank in Combination with UniCredit – One of Europe’s Largest Cross-Border Banking Mergers

Cleary Gottlieb is representing HypoVereinsbank, the second largest publicly-traded bank in Germany and the parent company of one of the five largest banking groups in Europe, in its business combination with the Italian bank UniCredit, the second largest bank in Italy.  The transaction is one of the largest cross-border M&A deals in the banking sector in Europe.
