Cleary Gottlieb received the award for “Best Gender Diversity Initiative” in the International Law Firm Category from Chambers Latin America Women in Law Awards 2012. Chambers noted that Cleary Gottlieb “has a long history of supporting and promoting women… approximately 42 percent of partners in the practice are female and the majority serve as the main point of contact for key clients.”
This was the first year Chambers held awards for Latin America Women in Law, after the success of the U.S. Women in Law awards, recognizing the achievements of law firms in the region who focus on promoting and retaining their female talent. The winners were selected by the Women in Law team in consultation with the Latin America Editorial team after an appraisal of the firms’ initiatives.
