Cleary Gottlieb Wins Three “Deal of the Year” Awards and a “Grand Prize” at the American Lawyer Global Legal Awards

Cleary Gottlieb advised on three matters selected by The American Lawyer as winners at its inaugural Global Legal Awards, which recognize the best cross border legal work across a range of practice areas. The American Lawyer received over 300 nominations from firms around the world for the awards, which were announced at a dinner in New York on September 23.

Cleary Gottlieb won the “Grand Prize” as “Global Finance Deal of the Year” for advising on Greece’s debt restructuring. The matter also received the “Global Finance Deal of the Year: Public Restructuring” award.

“Global M&A Deal of the Year: Chile” - Anglo American Sur Sales
(Cleary represented Codelco)

“Global M&A Deal of the Year: Russia” - Rosneft’s Acquisition of TNK-BP
(Cleary represented Rosneft)
