Furukawa Electric in Trocellen Group Acquisition

Cleary Gottlieb is representing a joint venture of The Furukawa Electric Co., Ltd. and Otsuka Chemical Co., Ltd. in its acquisition of Trocellen Group from HT Troplast GmbH. The transaction was announced on September 29 and subject to regulatory approval is expected to close by the end of the year.

Furukawa Electric is a manufacturer and seller of industrial materials and energy industry-related products.

Trocellen is one of the leading European suppliers of innovative cross-linked polyolefin (“XLPO”) foam products used for insulation, construction, automotive, footwear, and sports and leisure equipment. The company is based in Germany with affiliates elsewhere in Europe and in Asia and South America.
