Greece in €1.5 Billion Offering

Cleary Gottlieb represented the Hellenic Republic (Greece) in its tap issuance of €1.5 billion aggregate principal amount of 3.875% notes due 2029, which will be consolidated and form a single series with the €2.5 billion aggregate principal amount of 3.875% senior notes due 2029 issued by Greece on March 12, 2019.
Cleary also represented Greece in the first issuance.
BNP Paribas, Citigroup Global Markets Limited, Goldman Sachs International Bank, HSBC France, and J.P. Morgan Securities plc acted as joint lead managers and bookrunners for the tap offering. The transaction closed on October 15, 2019.
The tap offering constitutes Greece’s fourth bond offering in 2019. In July 2019, Cleary represented Greece in an issue of €2.5 billion aggregate principal amount of 1.875% notes due 2026, and in February 2019, Cleary represented Greece in an offering of €2.5 billion aggregate principal amount of 3.45% notes due 2024.
