Cleary Gottlieb successfully represented Ms. W, a Syrian refugee in Lebanon, in her application for resettlement to Norway.
Ms. W, a lesbian woman, first fled Syria due to persecution from military groups and from her family on account of her sexual orientation. She sought resettlement on the basis of her urgent protection needs as an LGBTI refugee and single woman. Cleary worked with the Iraqi Refugee Assistance Project in representing Ms. W.
