Transocean in $1.5 Billion Public Notes Offering

Cleary Gottlieb represented the underwriters, led by Barclays, Citigroup, J.P. Morgan and Wells Fargo Securities, in Transocean’s registered public offering of $1.5 billion of its senior notes (which are guaranteed by Transocean Ltd., its parent). The offering priced on September 10 and closed on September 13. The firm was also counsel to the underwriters in Transocean’s 2010 note offering and Transocean’s 2011 note and equity offerings.

Transocean is a leading international provider of offshore contract drilling services for oil and gas wells. It specializes in technically demanding segments of the offshore drilling business with a particular focus on deepwater and harsh environment drilling services.
