The American Arbitration Association has published revisions to its Commercial Arbitration Rules, which are generally applicable to domestic commercial disputes. With the avowed goal of making arbitration more expeditious and cost-effective, the new Commercial Arbitration Rules address various aspects of the process, including the need for mediation in connection with the arbitration proceedings, dispositive motions and emergency measures of protection.
