UK Government's Response on Private Actions in Competition Law

In April 2012, the UK government launched a public consultation on reforms to facilitate private actions in competition law. The principal aims of the raft of proposals were to promote growth by empowering small businesses to tackle anti-competitive behavior, and to promote fairness by enabling consumers and businesses to obtain redress. On January 29, 2013, the government published the responses to the consultation and outlined its plans for reform in four main areas.
