Last week, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania dismissed a federal indictment charging antitrust violations against a Luxembourg company and two of its executives. United States v. Stolt-Nielsen S.A., No. 06-cr-466 (E.D. Pa. Nov. 29, 2007). This marks the second time that the Justice Department has been rebuffed in its efforts to prosecute Stolt-Nielsen despite its earlier grant of amnesty.
