Alejandro Canelas Fernandez’s practice focuses on international corporate and financial transactions.
He concentrates on cross-border transactions, principally in Latin America. Alejandro has recently advised on IPOs, restructurings, sovereign debt offerings and mergers and acquisitions.
Alejandro joined the firm in 2012.

- In connection with reforms to the Mexican energy sector, successful solicitation of consents from holders of over 40 series of debt securities with an aggregate principal amount outstanding of approximately $40.3 billion.
- Ps. 17 billion offering of Cebures, the first offering of corporate debt securities governed by Mexican law to clear through Euroclear.
- The establishment of a $1.5 billion export financing program with the Export-Import Bank of the United States.
Nexa Resources and selling shareholder Votorantim in $496 million initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange and the Toronto Stock Exchange.
Automotores Gildemeister in various transactions, including its $700 million multijurisdictional debt restructuring.
GrafTech and selling shareholder Brookfield in $525 million initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange.
Grupo Clarín in connection with the acquisition of Nextel Communications Argentina.
