Claudius Straub’s practice focuses on corporate, securities, and banking matters, in particular, capital markets transactions and regulation of financial institutions.

Claudius joined the firm in 2018. From 2015 to 2017, he worked as a judge at the Regional Courts in Koblenz and Mainz, as well as the Local Court in Bingen, and from 2017 to 2018, he worked as seconded judge at the Department of Justice of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate.

In 2010, he was a legal intern and in 2012, he was a stagiaire (wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter) at the firm’s Frankfurt office.

  • Biscuit International Group in the financing of its acquisition of the Aviateur group.

  • Belron S.A. in a $455 million incremental amendment to the senior secured term loan B and multiple credit commitment and term loan increases.

  • Oaktree Capital Management and Northwestern Mutual as second-lien lenders in the restructuring of credit facilities advanced to sausage-skin manufacturer Kalle GmbH.

  • Sodiaal International in ESG Schuldschein loan agreements and the renegotiation of financing agreements.

  • Mapletree in the preparation of a due diligence report for a previously acquired German situs property and providing reliance to future co-investors and financing banks.
