Michael Borgers is a Legal and Policy Professional specializing in EU antitrust and competition matters.

Having joined the firm in 2023, he brings valuable experience from his recent Traineeship at the European Commission’s Directorate General for Competition. During this time, he worked on merger cases and merger policy projects, gaining insights into competition law at the European level.

Prior to joining our firm, he gained experience in competition law at a large Dutch law firm. There he assisted on antitrust and merger cases before the European Commission and the Autoriteit Consument & Markt. He has also contributed to the field through research on competition law enforcement, exploring through his work the impact of the rule of law crisis on effective competition law enforcement within the European Union. With his comprehensive understanding of EU and Competition Law, combined with practical experience, he provides strategic advice and legal representation to clients facing complex regulatory challenges.
