Chile in Dollar- and Euro-Denominated Debt Offerings and Concurrent Secondary Trade Tender Offer

Cleary Gottlieb represented the Republic of Chile in registered offerings of $1,349,122,000 3.125% Notes due 2026 and €1.2 billion 1.750% Notes due 2026. Joint lead managers and bookrunners for the new offerings were Citigroup, HSBC, Merrill Lynch and Santander. The offerings priced on January 12, 2016. The Euro Notes were issued on January 20, 2016 and the Dollar Notes were issued on January 21, 2016.

Chile used a portion of the net proceeds of the Dollar Notes to pay the purchase price for bonds tendered to HSBC as billing and delivering bank under an intra-day secondary trade tender offer launched simultaneously with the announcement of the new money offerings.
