Cleary Gottlieb partner Lisa Vicens was featured on the FTI Consulting podcast Fraud Eats Strategy, “Out From the Shadows: Examining Accounting Firm ‘Shadow Investigations,’” hosted by Scott Moritz.
Lisa and FTI’s Mark Grover discussed the little-known area of “shadow investigations,” in which accounting firms oversee internal investigations being performed by outside counsel and their forensic advisors. This “audit” of the investigation ensures that an internal investigation is scoped and conducted appropriately to provide sufficient comfort and information to the audit team reviewing the company’s financial statements.
