On October 12, 2018, the Council of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre approved the text of the 2018 HKIAC Administered Arbitration Rules.
Pursuant to Article 1.4 of the Rules, they come into force on November 1, 2018 and “unless the parties have agreed otherwise, shall apply to all arbitrations […] in which the Notice of Arbitration is submitted on or after that date.”
The Rules replace the earlier, 2013 version and codify prevailing best practices in international commercial arbitration.
