Unbundling-of-Hydro-Network-1200x200

Unbundling rules were introduced in order to remove any conflict of interest between management of gas transmission networks and production/sale of gas that could be injected into the grid.

On December 15, 2021, the Commission adopted the draft Fourth Gas Package, which consists of a proposal for a regulation and a directive aimed at fostering decarbonization of the EU gas market. The Fourth Gas Package will address, among other things, measures applicable to dedicated hydrogen networks, including unbundling rules that may influence the transition to an hydrogen-based gas economy.
