Diversity and Inclusion
As a firm, we place a premium on the unique perspectives of individuals from a range of backgrounds, beliefs and life experiences. We believe this tradition helps to keep the firm an open and exciting place to work.
By prioritising diversity and inclusion issues, we promote an environment where individuals of different genders, ages, races, national origins, religions and sexual orientations can practice law in a collegial and effective manner. As the first international firm of U.S. origin to sign the Law Society’s Diversity and Inclusion Charter, the flagship diversity initiative of the legal profession, we demonstrate our commitment for positive action across all strands of diversity. Cleary Gottlieb participates in and is a supporter of Stonewall’s Diversity Champion’s programme, the Black Solicitor’s Network, and Out of America, a City based US law firm LGBT support network.
Our Diversity committee, made up of partners, associates and administrative staff, plays an active role within the office to maintain a desirable work environment that is free from all forms of discrimination.
It is our view that diversity begins with recruitment and we look for candidates who share our views on openness, diversity, individuality and collegiality. For more information on diversity at the firm, please click here.
