Cleary Gottliebs 2018 Pro Bono Appreciation Event

Cleary Gottlieb hosted its annual Pro Bono Appreciation event to celebrate attorneys on Cleary’s 2017 pro bono “honor roll” and to thank the legal services organizations that provide opportunities and support for the firm’s pro bono practice.

The pro bono honor roll recognized over 260 Cleary attorneys who have dedicated 100 or more hours to pro bono or public service, or otherwise contributed in a meaningful way to the firm’s pro bono practice during the past year.

Maurya Couvares, former Cleary Pro Bono Coordinator and Executive Director of ScriptEd, served as the keynote speaker at the event. ScriptEd is a national nonprofit that equips students in under-resourced schools with the fundamental coding skills and professional experiences that create access to careers in technology.

In 2017, Cleary lawyers logged over 100,000 hours worldwide to pro bono legal work and public service efforts and served over 700 clients.
