Brexit took effect at the beginning of 2021 when EU competition law ceased to apply in the UK.

One year later, the implications of Brexit for UK antitrust enforcement are becoming clearer, as the Competition and Markets Authority capitalizes on its new powers to review cases that were previously reserved to the European Commission.

Cleary Gottlieb partners Nicholas Levy, Jackie Holland, and Henry Mostyn and counsel Paul Stuart along with John Fingleton of Fingleton and Bojana Ignjatovic of RBB Economics, discussed the implications of these developments in a webinar titled, “UK Antitrust Enforcement: One Year After Brexit.”
