ABN AMRO Sells $1.5 Billion Loan Portfolio

Cleary Gottlieb is representing ABN AMRO in its sale of a $1.5 billion portfolio of energy sector loans to funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management L.P. and Sixth Street Partners.

ABN AMRO is a prominent Dutch bank with offices in 14 countries. The sale allowed ABN AMRO to withdraw from oil and gas-related lending in North America and further reduce its noncore loan book. The transaction was signed on June 1, 2021, and closed on June 22, 2021.
