Acciaierie d’Italia Wins Before Court of Milan

Cleary Gottlieb represented Acciaierie d’Italia S.p.A. (Acciaierie d’Italia) in a judgment published on March 27, 2023, in which the Court of Milan rejected in full the claims for damages of a contractor that had requested Acciaierie d’Italia to pay substantial amounts in compensation and indemnities in relation to various contracts for works inside the former Ilva plant in Taranto.

Accepting Acciaierie d’Italia’s defense, the Court of Milan ruled out any breach of contract and, consequently, dismissed all the contractor’s claims, also ordering it to pay the defendant’s costs (relating to both the preceding precautionary phase and the proceedings on the merits).
