Aéroports de Paris in 1,970.4 million HKD Accelerated Placement of Shares in Beijing Airport Company

Cleary Gottlieb represented Aéroports de Paris in the sale by its affiliate, Aéroports de Paris Management, of its 6.24% interest in the share capital of Beijing Capital International Airport Company Limited (BCIA), for a gross amount of 1,970.4 million Hong Kong dollars (HKD) (approximately €191.6 million). The transaction was conducted through an accelerated placement with institutional investors, including a U.S. private placement, in which Morgan Stanley & Co. International Limited acted as placing agent. The bookbuilding took place on February 26, and the transaction closed on February 28.

Aéroports de Paris had acquired these shares during the initial public offering and listing of BCIA, a sino-foreign joint stock limited company organized under the laws of the People’s Republic of China, on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited in February 2000. BCIA is the operator of the Beijing Airport.
