Cleary Gottlieb has secured FTC clearance for its long-time client, Air Liquide, in its acquisition of Airgas.
Air Liquide, a leading producer and supplier of industrial gases and related products, announced on May 13 that the U.S. Federal Trade Commission has cleared the acquisition of Airgas by Air Liquide, satisfying the final regulatory condition to the closing of the pending acquisition. This transaction was a joint M&A and antitrust effort for the firm. Notwithstanding the complexity of a transaction involving divestitures in multiple markets, the antitrust clearance was obtained in less than six months after the deal’s announcement.
