Cleary Gottlieb represented the underwriters, led by Citigroup Global Markets Inc., Credit Suisse Securities (USA) LLC, and Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC, in an SEC registered shelf takedown by American Express of $1.60 billion 3.400 percent notes due February 27, 2023, and $600 million floating rate notes due February 27, 2023.

The offering priced on February 22, 2018, and closed on February 27, 2018.
