Cleary Gottlieb is representing American Express, as one of the major shareholders of Amex Global Business Travel, in its joint venture with a Certares-backed financial sponsor consortium, in its £400 million takeover of Hogg Robinson plc.
The transaction was announced on February 9, 2018 alongside a simultaneous “Class 1” disposal by Hogg Robinson of its Fraedom business to Visa. Cleary also acted on the creation of the Amex GBT joint venture in 2014.
