Cleary Gottlieb assisted ArcelorMittal, a leading global operator in the steel market, in the submission of an offer for the acquisition of Ilva’s steel business units.
The offer was submitted together with the Marcegaglia group on June 30, 2016, in the context of the extraordinary administration procedure of the Ilva group. Ilva’s business units include the Taranto industrial site, which is the largest steel manufacturing site in Europe.
