ASECA Honors Alan Beller with 2018 William O. Douglas Award

October 2, 2017

The Association of Securities & Exchange Commission Alumni, Inc. (ASECA) announced that it is honoring Cleary Gottlieb senior counsel Alan Beller with the 2018 William O. Douglas Award.

This honor is given annually to an SEC alumnus for major contributions to the development of the federal securities laws or service to the financial and SEC community with distinction, and whose achievements are considered extraordinary by his or her peers.

Alan has decades of experience in the fields of securities and corporate law and corporate governance. He was Director of the SEC’s Division of Corporation Finance from 2002-2006; he arrived at the Commission one month after Enron filed for bankruptcy, and during his four-year tenure, he led the Division in producing the most far-reaching corporate governance and securities offering reform in its history.

The award will be presented at the ASECA’s annual dinner on February 23, 2018, in Washington, D.C. Additional details about the ASECA and the William O. Douglas Award can be found here.
