Cleary Gottlieb represented Credit Suisse as global coordinator and sole book runner in the secondary offering of Banco Compartamos, S.A., Institución de Banca Múltiple. The offering, which raised PS 5,132,336,480, closed on April 25.
The offering consisted of 111,572,532 Compartamos Series O common shares listed on the Mexican Stock Exchange and sold under Rule 144A/Reg S.
Compartamos, a Mexican bank specializing in microfinance, is the largest lender to microbusiness owners in Latin America. Compartamos makes small loans to low-income Mexican business owners, such as crafts manufacturers, food vendors and other small businesses.
