Cleary Gottlieb is acting as antitrust counsel to Broadcom in its $18.9 billion acquisition of New York-based software company CA Technologies.
The deal was announced in July 2018, and required merger control approvals in the United States, European Union, and Japan. The waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino (HSR) Act expired in August 2018, and the transaction was unconditionally cleared by the European Commission and by the Japanese Fair Trade Commission in October 2018.
