Casa Tarradellas Acquires 60% of Herta From Nestlé

Cleary Gottlieb represented Casa Tarradellas in its acquisition of a 60% stake in the Herta charcuterie and dough business from Nestlé.

The transaction was completed on June 30, 2020.

The joint venture includes the Herta charcuterie (cold cuts and meat-based products) business in France, Germany, Belgium, and the United Kingdom, as well as the Herta dough business in France and Belgium. The Herta charcuterie and dough business generated sales of €667 million in 2018 and has been valued at €690 million.

Casa Tarradellas is a Spanish manufacturer and distributor of charcuterie, fresh dough, and chilled pizzas with sales in excess of €900 million in 2018 in Spain. Casa Tarradellas was founded in 1976 by Josep Tarradellas Arcarons and remains a family-owned company. It is based in Gurb, in the Barcelona province.
