Cleary Gottlieb Achieves Perfect Score on Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2009 Corporate Equality Index and Best Places to Work Survey

October 1, 2008

For the second year in a row, Cleary Gottlieb earned a top rating of 100% on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2009 Corporate Equality Index, making the firm one of the best places to work for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender employees.

The annual survey, part of HRC’s Workplace Project program, provides ratings of large U.S. employers based on an in-depth analysis of their policies and practices pertinent to GLBT employees, consumers and investors. Areas measured in the survey include diversity initiatives and training, marketing efforts, and health and domestic partnership benefits.

The Human Rights Campaign Foundation is the educational arm of America’s largest civil rights organization working to achieve GLBT equality.

Cleary has been frequently recognized for its commitment to diversity and inclusion this year. In addition to the Corporate Equality Index perfect score, the firm ranked #1 in diversity by both Minority Law Journal and Vault Guide to the Top 100 U.S. Law Firms, and was the first law firm to win the Empire State Pride Agenda’s “Equality at Work” award.
