International law firm Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP announced today that Sunil Gadhia will join the firm as a partner in its London office. Mr. Gadhia, 46, joins from Stephenson Harwood, where he is a commercial and financial litigation partner and a former Chief Executive.

Mr. Gadhia has extensive experience in many forms of international dispute resolution including High Court litigation, European Court litigation, arbitration, expert determination and mediation. He has acted for both claimants and defendants.
Mr. Gadhia is ranked as a leading individual for both banking litigation and commercial litigation in the Legal 500 and Chambers UK guides. He has advised on major disputes in a wide range of areas including banking and financial services, fraud, contract disputes, joint venture disputes, judicial review in the English and European courts, IP, insolvency, and professional negligence. His experience covers numerous industries ranging from financial services to engineering and technology.
Mr. Gadhia joined Stephenson Harwood in 1988 as a trainee, became a partner in 1997, and was Chief Executive of the firm from 2003 to 2009 while continuing to practice as a litigation partner.
