Cleary Gottlieb has advised on the Merger Control Matter of the Year in Europe at the Global Competition Review (GCR) Awards 2021.
The firm was recognized for advising Google LLC in its $2.1 billion acquisition of Fitbit Inc., which included a 15-month antitrust review process in the European Union, United States, Australia, Japan, and South Africa. Cleary led the merger review process for the EU and U.S., as well as coordinated global strategy across the remaining jurisdictions while working closely with in-house and local counsel.
