Cleary Gottlieb Bolsters Paris Office with Leading Private Equity Partner

June 30, 2026

Cleary Gottlieb announced today that Emmanuel Enrici will join the firm’s Paris office as a partner in late July, focusing on M&A and private equity transactions.

His arrival will mark a significant step in the growth of the firm’s offering in Paris, and will reinforce its commitment to expanding its top-ranked M&A and private equity capabilities in one of Europe’s most dynamic markets.

Emmanuel’s practice covers sponsor-side private equity work, including large-cap buyouts, carve-outs, and exits, with particular depth in complex, cross-border transactions for major international sponsors.

“The Paris office has an outstanding reputation for corporate and M&A excellence, and with Emmanuel joining to work alongside Charles Masson and Hugues Tabardel, we significantly deepen our ability to serve the French PE market at the very highest level,” said Pierre-Yves Chabert, Paris partner and Co-Leader of the EMEA Corporate practice. “The continued expansion of our private equity practice is a key strategic priority for Cleary and for our Paris office, and Emmanuel’s arrival is an exciting development for our team,” added Paris private equity partner Charles Masson.

“Cleary has long been recognized for the quality of its corporate practice in Paris, and Emmanuel’s hire builds on that strong foundation,” said Managing Partner Jeff Karpf. “His deep experience and strong relationships with leading international sponsors are a superb addition to our platform. His appointment is part of a broader commitment to ensuring our private equity capabilities match the scale and sophistication of the transactions our clients are pursuing across Europe and globally.”

The expansion reflects a period of significant momentum for the firm. Cleary advised on more than $300 billion in transactions in 2025 and has continued to deepen its bench. The firm has accelerated investment in its private equity and M&A practices through a series of senior hires and promotions, with the recent arrival of private equity partner Matthew Schwartz in New York in April.

On joining the firm, Emmanuel commented, “What attracted me was the strength of the firm’s platform and the reputation and caliber of the Paris office. I see a real opportunity to grow the private equity practice alongside Charles, Hugues, and the wider team, and I very much look forward to contributing to its continued success.”
