Cleary Gottlieb Honored For Advising on Two Project Finance “Deals of the Year”

Cleary Gottlieb was recognized for advising on two Project Finance “Deals of the Year” for 2013. Project Finance presented the awards during its 15th annual Americas Deals of the Year Awards Dinner, held on March 13th in New York. The two winning deals were:

North American Transport Deal of the Year: The privatization of Puerto Rico’s Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport, marking the first major U.S. airport to be run by a private operator under the FAA’s Pilot Privatization Program, and successful bond financing. Cleary Gottlieb advised Aerostar Airport Holdings, a joint venture between Highstar Capital and Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste (ASUR), as the private operator of the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport.

Latin American Midstream Oil & Gas Deal of the Year: Gasoductos de Chihuahua in the $490 million project financing for the further development of two natural gas pipelines, a natural gas compression station, and an LPG storage and transportation system. Cleary represented Gasoductos de Chihuahua, a Mexican 50:50 joint venture between Pemex Gas y Petroquímica Básica and Sempra Gasoductos Holding.
