Cleary Gottlieb in Top 10 of UK Legal Sector Workplace Equality Index

February 16, 2011

On February 16, 2011, the InterLaw Diversity Forum for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Networks and Stonewall - a British lesbian, gay, and bisexual (LGB) rights organization - announced the Legal Sector Top 10, showcasing the UK legal sector’s top performers in the most recent Stonewall Workplace Equality Index. David Shields, Director of Workplace Programs for Stonewall, commented: “Law firms have made massive strides in LGB equality in the past three years and we are delighted to celebrate the Top 10 performers with the InterLaw Diversity Forum.”

Maurits Dolmans welcomed the firm’s inclusion in the Top 10, and commented:

“Diversity and inclusion were among the founding principles of Cleary Gottlieb, and we were the first U.S. firm to join the Law Society’s Diversity and Inclusion Charter. So it’s gratifying to be recognized for our LGBT track-record. Working with Stonewall, the InterLaw Diversity Forum and other partners, we will continue to encourage, foster and increase diversity because we believe it strengthens our entire firm.”
