Cleary Gottlieb partner Adam Brenneman has been named an “Outstanding Young Restructuring Lawyer” for 2018 by Turnarounds & Workouts, which honors lawyers under the age of 40 with impressive legal accomplishments in the restructuring space.
This is the second time he has been recognized, and he is one of only 12 lawyers nationwide chosen for this award.
Turnarounds & Workouts highlighted Adam’s role as advisor on various high-profile restructurings in Latin America, including to the creditor committees in the $5.8 billion restructuring of OGX, $935 million restructuring of Gruma, and $3 billion restructuring of Comerci. He is also noted as counsel in some of the most significant bankruptcy and restructuring deals, including Automotores Gildemeister in its complex $700 million debt restructuring and Inversiones Alsacia and Express de Santiago Uno in a Chapter 11 filing with more than $350 million in debt. He also represented Fintech Investments in the closing of transactions undertaken in connection with a comprehensive settlement of the contested restructuring of Vitro, including the purchase and exchange of over $750 million of debt of Vitro and the acquisition of a substantial equity interest in a Vitro subsidiary, and the related negotiation of secured structured financing arrangements and letter of credit facilities in connection with that transaction.
