Cleary Gottlieb Ranked Among Top 10 on The American Lawyer’s A-List for Seventh Consecutive Year

July 1, 2009

Cleary Gottlieb placed eighth on The American Lawyer’s A-List—a carefully weighted ranking of the top 20 AmLaw 200 firms—moving up two places from 2008. Cleary Gottlieb is one of only three firms to have been ranked among the top 10 every year since the A-List’s inception in 2003. The A-List measures the qualities of an elite law firm, described by The American Lawyer as those that are best at balancing a thriving business with their obligations to the profession.

In determining its rankings, The American Lawyer examines four factors: revenue per lawyer, commitment to pro bono, diversity among lawyers, and associate training and satisfaction. Revenue per lawyer and pro bono work receive double weight.
