Cleary Gottlieb was named to the 2011 “50 Great Places to Work” list by Washingtonian magazine in its November 2011 issue. Cleary Gottlieb was one of only two law firms on this year’s list.
The article highlighted the firm’s unique compensation structure: “Though the lawyers at Cleary Gottlieb work hard, they aren’t incentivized to compete with each other the way attorneys are at most firms. . . As a result, everyone is encouraged to work together rather than fight over assignments.” Washingtonian also noted perks including an on-site gym, subsidized gym memberships, and family-friendly offerings including a new-mothers room and free backup childcare.
