Cleary Gottlieb sponsors “Time for Creativity” garden for RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2026

January 6, 2026

Cleary Gottlieb has proudly partnered with garden designer Christina Cobb and the National Literacy Trust to create the “Cleary Gottlieb: Time for Creativity” show garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2026 (May 19–23).

The space explores what can be achieved in an environment free from distractions and encourages visitors to reengage with their own creativity and imagination, while promoting the National Year of Reading 2026. The garden will be constructed by Surrey-based landscaping firm Shovel + Spade.

Cleary’s sponsorship of the Time for Creativity Garden at the Chelsea Flower Show represents a powerful alignment with its commitment to the National Literacy Trust, a charity that empowers children, young people, and adults with the literacy skills they need to succeed. With a post-show donation of the garden to the National Literacy Trust, Cleary hopes the garden can be enjoyed by many people within their community by providing a beautiful and tranquil space to step away from distraction and reignite creative interests and hobbies.

“The theme of our garden expresses a key element of our firm’s culture: the skill of creative thinking is vital,” said Cleary partner Tihir Sarkar. “Partnering with the National Literacy Trust, with whom Cleary Gottlieb has collaborated for many years, felt like a perfect fit for the National Year of Reading 2026.”

Jonathan Douglas CBE, Chief Executive of the National Literacy Trust added, “We are delighted that in 2026, the National Year of Reading, the Chelsea Flower Show will provide us with a platform to encourage millions to take time in their lives to reconnect with reading. The post-show donation of the garden will extend its impact, allowing others the opportunity to use this beautiful, tranquil community space to read, reflect, and create.”
