Cleary Gottlieb Wins “Best International Firm Latin America Practice” and Meme Peponis Wins for Banking & Finance at the Euromoney Americas Women in Business Law Awards 2012

Cleary Gottlieb received the firm award for “Best International Firm Latin America Practice,” and Cleary Gottlieb partner Meme Peponis received the individual award for the category of Banking & Finance at the Euromoney Legal Media Group’s inaugural Americas Women in Business Law Awards 2012. The awards were announced on May 24 at a dinner in New York.

This was the first year the awards were held in the United States, following the success of sister events in Europe and Asia in 2011, and were based on preliminary research and submissions detailing the firm’s dedication to the advancement of women in the legal profession and leading female business practitioners considered to be among the most capable across 30 practice areas. The winners were celebrated for having the best initiatives for gender diversity, innovation, minority women, mentoring, work-life balance, pro bono work and talent management.
